No Failures

Last night while watching Holly's World, a show on E!, one of the characters, Josh Strickland, a Broadway star, decided to start therapy to manage his panic attacks. In the Dr.'s office there was a sign with this quote on it and it got my mind spinning. I'm the type of person who is scared of regret, always have been, and I hate it. I can't tell you how many times I haven't tried something just because I thought I wouldn't be good or it wouldn't work out. Seeing this, made me think about how different my life could be if I was more confident with my decision making. If I knew I wouldn't fail, what would I have done? If you knew you wouldn't fail, what would you do?
I think this will be a quote that I will always keep in the back of my mind every time I get scared to try something new.

Last night I was doing some reading for a class I'm taking, Commercial Theatrical Producing. The book is titled The Commercial Theatrical Institute: Guide to Producing Plays and Musicals and is edited by Frederic B. Vogel and Ben Hodges, two well known men in the theater world that specialize in producing. In the introduction, Mr. Vogel write a few words on investing an raising capital and ends with a little writing on the wall. He talks about how when he first began as a commercial producer, he stayed in the money raising business and would always try to remember a little saying he saw on the wall in a coffee shop he visited quite frequently. Whether you're a commercial producer of Off-Broadway or Broadway shows, or just a student trying to graduate from college, you too should think of this quote. When you find yourself focusing on the hole, or the minor details, remember the doughnut and try to see the big picture.

I found this quote when scrolling through lovers in vain and it hit home pretty well. Unfortunately I think I can have a bad attitude when it comes to certain situations and I've been trying to work on it. When you're stressed about school or work or relationships etc., try and keep a positive outlook. Sometimes it just makes dealing a lot easier.
